It has been credibly argued that Vladimir Putin is the greatest Russian visionary since Peter the Great. At over 2 meters tall, Pete was about as far from Putin in stature as possible, but it is not about the size of the dog in the fight. The little dog in this fight is ripping apart what was once the greatest military machine (NATO) in the history of man.
Peter faced foreign invasion, had no navy or port, his population was uneducated peasants and the condescending Muscovites were always offering him advice to keep the status quo. So, Peter went west and learned about everything modern. He envisioned a European Russia with common principles and predictable ways.
Peter went about kicking the shit out of his Swedish invaders. He put the peasants to work building St. Petersburg on a swamp. It remains one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The Muscovites must've shuddered. Things were changing.
A few hundred years later, a ghost came out of St. Petersburg - Vladimir Putin. He is Peter with bigger problems but more assets. NATO has expanded to his doorstep and has messed around in Georgia, the Ukraine, the Crimea and now wants to usurp the Russian gas supply to Europe by building a pipeline from Saudi Arabia to Europe via Syria. Not gonna happen!! The US ran an old cadre of Arab recruits into Syria to oust Assad and clear the way for non-Russian oil and gas. Shhh, that's a worst kept secret.
The Russian navy (and its entire military) is as strong in tradition as it is in technology. The days of the peasants have been replaced by highly educated leaders in thought. Putin speaks about a federated gov't rather than a centrally controlled behemoth. Businesses get their first 3 years without taxation. Women are paid thousands of dollars to have kids. It is illegal to preach sexual deviancy to children. The church is a respected institution and so is the rule of law. Putin has proclaimed that the global warming lie is an assault on business. It sounds like 1776 America is facing off against 1917 Russia, but the tables have been reversed. The west embraced war and socialism and will suffer the consequences. Russia has embraced freedom and opportunity and will reap the benefits.
Looking ahead to our future is looking back at Russia's. So what do we do after the big bang of financial collapse happens? Hmmm, what would Vlad do? He has hit nearly 90% popularity in Russia. He has even hit 70% popularity in Western Europe and the US because we need a guy like him just as Russia does.
We could protest against the political cowards who "represent us by writing "Putin" on our ballots, but I have a better idea. When candidates run for election, they are required to list their also known as (aka) names. Everyone decent should run as, let's say Dennis Young aka Vladimir Putin. We should follow that up with the principles held by 1776 America and 2015 Russia. Every municipal, provincial (state) and federal election would be inundated with "Vote Putin" lawn signs. That is what a small victory looks like. A big victory is getting the electorate to cast their vote in that direction as they have in Russia. It was the smart way to go for them.
Dennis has been to 35 countries and carried a gun in most of them. He's worked as a soldier, policeman and intelligence operator before and during the Bosnian war. When looking into the abyss, he found that it has several faces and names that can and should be identified. A Henchman's Honor tells the story of his path to discovery and blows the lid off the organization of evil.
